Camden resident Daeshawn Bradley has had two additional charges added to 10 other crimes for which he was suspected of committing. The new charges are for residential burglary and two counts theft of property

On Dec., 23, 2018, a Camden Police Department officer made contact with a resident in reference to a residential burglary which occurred while the resident was at church.

When the resident and his wife returned home, they noticed that their bedroom door was open. The resident stated that he was certain they left their bedroom door closed upon their departure. After investigating the opened door, the man said that he observed his two BB guns on the floor. The guns had been stored inside a drawer located next to the bedroom door.

He also noticed that his black .32 automatic and .25 Chrome Automatic pistols had been taken from the drawer. No other items were taken. While on the scene, it was noticed that the back door to be kicked in and the door-frame damaged.

When asked who the pair believed could be responsible for the incident, both subjects stated that the wife’s son, Daeshawn Bradley, was likely the one responsible. Bradley had reportedly expressed interest in the two stolen guns on an earlier date, and he knew where the weapons were stored in the home.

On Dec. 26, 2018, CPD Sgt. Kyle McDaniel spoke with the wife at her residence who stated that she felt Bradley was responsible for the incident because the residence was not in disarray when they returned home as if the intruder knew exactly where to look. She reported that other than herself and her husband, Bradley was the only other person who knew where the guns were located.

On Dec. 28, 2018, an officer was contacted by CPD Lt. Ben Opelt regarding a Snapchat video that Bradley had posted. This video was saved by Opelt and shows Bradley in front of his house on Dec. 27, 2018, smoking marijuana and handling two pistols that were very similar to the stolen ones.

Bradley is also awaiting trial on charges of residential burglary and criminal mischief from an incident in which he broke a window at Banks Pawn. He is also awaiting trial for possession of firearms by a felon, as well as a June 2018 break-in of the Pet Shop on Washington Street.

Bradley is a convicted felon from a 2017 incident in which he recorded lewd acts on Snapchat with a 13-year-old girl. He had been charged and convicted of sexual assault in the third degree, and is currently being held in the Ouachita County Detention Complex.
