Mary F. Berry Sullivent Hathcoat - also known as “Grandma” to many - 95, of Sparkman and formerly of Bearden, passed away from this life on Monday, Jan. 7, 2019.

She was born on April 6, 1923, in Redfield, Arkansas, to the late Stanford and Dora Berry. She loved the outdoors, gardening, flowers and singing gospel hymns. She was an active member of Sparkman Assembly of God Church.

She was preceded in death by husbands, Harold (Pool Hall) Sullivent and C.A. Hathcoat; parents, Stanford and Dora Berry; son, Bill Sullivent; sisters, Berda Hemphill, Kathleen Michael, Ethel Clark, Minerva Berry, and Eula Render; and brothers, Felix Berry, Walter Berry, and Woodrow Berry.

She is survived by one daughter, Mary Ann Sullivent (Charles Foley, Jr.) of Bismarck; one sister, Ida Culp of Ohio; one daughter-in-law, Paulette Sullivent of Sparkman; two grandsons, Sam Morris (Ashley) of Magnolia, and Hank Sullivent (Lisa) of Sparkman; three great-grandchildren, Marcus Morris, Taylor Stinnett, and Mylee Crow; and her loyal companion, Maddie Dog.

Benton Funeral Home of Bearden is in charge of the arrangements.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Sparkman Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Wendell Miller officiating. Burial will be at New Holly Springs Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
