Doyle R. Jones, 85, died on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2019, after suffering for many years from Alzheimer’s disease.

Doyle grew up in White County, Arkansas, and graduated from Bald Knob High School in 1951. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was a business owner in Camden, Arkansas for many years before retiring and moving to Little Rock. He was a lifelong member of the Baptist church. He was also proud to be a member of the Masons and to have been a loved and respected Boy Scout leader.

He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed working in his vegetable garden and yard after he retired.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Vera Butler Jones; children, Kathleen Keefe (Terry), Barry Jones (Sawana), and Rene’ Meints (David); grandchildren, Shane Jones (Mandy), Clint Jones, Corey Alford (Carie), Amanda Jones (Jamie), Brian Alford (Jessie), Jackie Trotta (Daniel), David Meints, and Katelyn Meints; and 12 great-grandchildren. Doyle is also survived by all seven of his siblings, Farrah Stokes, Andy Jones, Lynn Jones, Gene Jones, Joyce Gearhart, Jo Captain and Beth Hackenberg.

A memorial service will be held at Lone Star Baptist Church to be scheduled later.
