CAMDEN It’s that time of year again for some early spring cleaning.
That’s right, it’s time to start getting ready for company.
The first two hints that we’re actually seeing the light at the end of each winter’s tunnel are two events that have put Camden on the tourist destination map: The South Arkansas Kennel Club Dog Show and Obedience Trials and soon after that, the Camden Daffodil Festival and Garden Tours.
The dog show - which brings to town dog owners, trainers, vendors and spectators from across the country - will be here Feb. 23-24.
The Daffodil Festival will be held from March 8-9, and will draw thousands to participate in activities throughout the community.
It’s important that we begin right now to get our town in shape to be as attractive and inviting as possible for the many people from all over the country who will be our guests.
Let’s clean up the litter that has accumulated, repair what’s broken and put some new paint on structures and stuff that have become drab and dingy.
These two events put our community on display for thousands of visitors. Let’s show them that Camden welcomes and appreciates them.
