Dorothy M. Allen was born on March 8, 1944, in Prescott, Arkansas, to Joe and Marple Mae Gulley Sims. She passed away on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2019, at her home in Prescott.

She was a member of St.. John Baptist Church in Bluff City, and a graduate of McRae High School in Prescott. She worked as a greeter at the Walmart Supercenter in Arkadelphia for 15 years, and was as member of the Royal Grand Chapter Order of Eastern Star Prince Hall Affiliation Arkansas Jurisdiction Ferdinand Chapter No. 138 Chidester.

She married the Rev. Marshall Allen on Oct. 5, 1990, and co-labored with him as pastor of Union Grove Baptist Church in Bluff City and Eastern Star Baptist Church in Gurdon.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Tanasia Marks; and a great-granddaughter, Jadasia Cole.

She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Marshall Allen; three children, Thomas Moss, Jr., of Prescott,Gregory A. Moss of Prescott,and Teritha Muldrow of Emmett; 10 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Williams Funeral Home of Arkadelphia is in charge of the arrangements.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Morriah Baptist Church in Chidester. Interment will be at St. John Cemetery in Bluff City.

The family hour will be held from 6-7 p.m. Friday at St. John Baptist Church in Bluff City.

Charles Hall

Charles Edward Hall, 71, of Camden, died on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2019, in El Dorado.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest and Cleo P. Hall.

He is survived by his loving wife, Georgia M. Hall of Camden; son, Charles Bragg of Grand Prairie, Texas; daughters, Brandy Porchia and Charlotte Elliott - both of Camden; brother, Michael Hall of Grand View, Missouri; sisters, Earnestine Frazier and Cathy Henderson - both of Little Rock, and Linda Hildreth of Camden; and three grandchildren.

Reddick Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at St. James AME with the Rev. Michael Harris officiating. Burial will be at Eternal Rest Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with a wake from 5-6 p.m. Friday also at the funeral home.
