Bond was set at $150,000 Wednesday for an El Dorado man who appeared in 35th District Judicial Court on numerous felony charges.

A first appearance hearing was held for Marcus D. Howard, 41, who has given an address of the 1200 block of East Wesson, for possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm by certain persons, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, theft by receiving and parole violation.

Howard was arrested July 1, initially during a traffic stop in the area of South Jackson and Cook.

At 8:18 p.m., officers with the El Dorado Police Department’s Criminal Apprehension Division said they topped Howard because he did not completely stop at a stop sign at the intersection.

Investigators said Howard continued east and threw from the driver’s window what appeared to be cellophane paper wrapping from a cigarette package.
