Vernon Weaver, 85, died on July 3, 2019.

He was born in Camden, Arkansas, on Oct. 8, 1933, to A. Y. and Edna Risser Weaver. He was a member of Timothy United Methodist Church. He was retired from International Paper Company after working there for 38 years, and enjoyed raising cattle for many years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Weaver; four brothers, Oliver “Bo” Weaver, Jim Weaver, A. Z. Weaver and Ben Weaver; and five sisters, Eloise Reynolds, Viola White, Thelma Miller, Mary Tucker and Essie Lawson.

He is survived by two sons, David Weaver of Camden, and Phillip Weaver and his wife, Charlie; three sisters, Pat Barnhart, Tressie King and her husband, Boyce, and Helen Lockridge - all of Camden; four grandchildren, Nicholas Adam Weaver and his wife, Ashley, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Jacob Dewayne Weaver and his wife, Jessica, of Camden, Carly Dream Weaver of Camden, and Leslie Suzanne Weaver of El Dorado, Arkansas; and two great-grandchildren, Walsh Weaver of Jonesboro and Addison Weaver.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 8, at Timothy United Methodist Church.

The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, July 7, at the funeral home.
