Two arrested, held in Dallas County

— On Saturday, June 08, 2019 Dallas County Deputies responded to multiple 911 calls to a residence in Sparkman AR in reference to a sexual assault.

When Deputies arrived, they found the victim injured and missing all of her clothing but otherwise safe with family members a short distance from the incident location.

Deputies learned that Michael Bagley (45) of Sparkman, AR solicited a ride earlier in the evening from an elder female family member. Once they arrived at his residence he physically forced the victim to go into the residence with him where he brutally attacked the victim both physically, and sexually.

When family members became concerned for the victim’s welfare due to the length of time she’d been gone they went to the suspect’s residence and attempted to make contact. After several attempts the suspect finally came to the door, standing behind the victim, brandishing a shotgun, and threatening to kill them and anyone else who would approach.

Deputies made contact with Bagley at his residence and were able to take him into custody without incident. Bagley provided a statement confirming his actions and has been charged with several felonies including; Rape, Kidnapping, Incest, Terroristic Threatening, Domestic Battery, and Possession Of A Firearm By Certain Persons.

Bagley is being held at the Dallas County Detention Center on a $75,000.00 bond as well as a Probation and Parole Detainer.

On Thursday, June 06, 2019 Dallas County Deputies responded to a residence in Sparkman in reference to a physical disturbance.

Upon arrival they made contact with the Suspect, Jefferey Blevins (42) of Sparkman as well as several witnesses. The Victim, James (Sam) Bailey (42) of Sparkman, AR was unresponsive, and laying in the driveway with an apparent stab wound to the chest. Bailey was pronounced dead upon arrival at Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia, AR.

Blevins was arrested and charged with Murder in the 2nd Degree, a Class “A” Felony. He is being held at the Dallas County Detention Center on a $100,000.00 Bond.
