A Louann woman plead not guilty to solicitation charges in a court appearance this week.

JoLynn Spitler has been charged with conduct constituting solicitation and given a $10,000 bond after the grandmother of a close relative informed police about sexually suggestive text messages the woman had been sending.

According to an affidavit from Ouachita County Sheriff’s Department JoLynn Spitler, 41, of Louann called the minor on March 13 and during the conversation propositioned the minor. Immediately after the conversation, Spitler texted, “I need you to keep a secret.” The minor replied “Why do you want to have sex with me?” Spitler stated, “Cause I do.”

The minor then messaged “Say what you said on the phone. I want to you to say what you said on the phone to make sure I heard you right. I’m not going to tell anyone. I promise.”

Spitler texted,” Ok Thank you. Cause I would be in deep *** I don’t need right now.”

When the minor again prompted her to text the details of the phone conversation Spitler replied, “What? Do u wanna have six with more or can I (sexually explicit)?”

On March 18, Spitler again contacted the minor saying

“Just know I wasn’t going to do those things just wanted to see if anybody had.”

The minor later said that while speaking to Spitler she said she had watched a television show that said to ask children those questions.

The crime that Spitler was soliciting would be a classified as rape, a class Y Felony.

She faces up to 30 years if convicted.
