A Camden man was arrested Monday after surveillance equipment at a home recorded footage of him stealing items from the residence, according to a report from the Ouachita County Sheriff’s Department.

Ray Charles Brewer, 56, was arrested after a Maul Road resident contacted the sheriff’s office and reported the theft. The report states that on the video footage, it was seen that Brewer posed as a utility worker. The home’s surveillance-security system caught him stealing lawn equipment from the home.

The homeowner watched Brewer on a cellphone as the theft occurred, and was able to report details about what Brewer was wearing and what he was driving, states the report.

Brewer has been charged with breaking or entering, and theft of property that has a value of more than $1,000.

He is being held at the Ouachita County Detention Complex.
