— Cassie Anderson

Cassie Anderson was born to James and Connie Elliott on May 14, 1932, and was the stepdaughter of Lillie M. Elliott. She departed this life on March 4, 2019, at the age of 86.

She was united in marriage to D’Annunzio B. Anderson on Sept. 13, 1948 - a union which lasted 53 years. To this union, three children were born. One of which preceded her in death (Lonnie R. Anderson).

She accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age, united with New Jerusalem Baptist church and later Calvary Baptist Church where she was a faithful and active member until her health failed her. She obtained her beautician’s license and was gainfully employed most of her life and worked for a few businesses, one of which included Lockheed Martin.

She was blessed to have lived for 86 years, she loved God, loved wearing high-heeled shoes, had a temper but held no malice, and on many occasions, an untamed tongue. She was the spark that kept her family moving forward. She was a hardworking mother who loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and truly valued an education. If you needed help, she was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand.

She had 13 sisters and brothers, nine of which preceded her in death. Mittie R. Robinson (Anthony)., James Booker T. Elliott of Pine Bluff, and Sheila Green (Ralph) of Dallas, Texas.

She leaves to mourn her daughters and daughter-in-law, Gwendolyn Anderson-Charles of Pine Bluff, Javonnia Anderson-Copeland of Lansing, Michigan, and Bobbie King Anderson of Louann; grandchildren, Candace Michelle Tomlinson (LaShonn) of Chicago, Illinois, Byron L. Anderson (Yvette ) of Little Elm, Texas, Wendy Nicole Anderson of Mableton, Georgia, Michael Faruki Copeland of Dallas, Mikeala Javon Copeland and Michael D ‘Annunzio Copeland of Lansing; great-grandchildren, LaShonn Eugene Tomlinson Jr. of Chicago, Illinois, Jeremiah and Noah Wright of Mableton, Georgia. She also leaves to cherish her memories to a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
