Pete Traylor died on Sunday, May 12, 2019, in the home of his daughter,.

He was born on May 22, 1948, in Malvern, Arkansas to Henry Pete Traylor and Nettie Stewart. He was raised in Malvern and later moved to Camden where he met Dorothy J. Traylor, whom he later married. To this union, three children were born.

Pete worked on Cotton Belt Railroad, as a foreman for many years, only to become disabled and retire. He owned many businesses and was a very smart and charismatic man. “Pete” gave his life to the Lord and believed that God was his Lord and Savior.

Pete was a very special and blessed man. He was diagnosed with lung cancer only later beat that diagnosis and had been cancer free for a year. During his time on earth, he was faced with many obstacles, but he never gave up, he kept pushing until he took his last breath and his earthly body had given out.

He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Pete Traylor; the mother that raised him, Zennie Thompson Traylor; his grandmother, Sarah Hunter; four sisters, Ossielean Louis, Vernestine Traylor-Amos, Barbara Beene, and Clematine Greene; and three brothers, Jack Welch, Micha Stewart and Ronald Traylor.

He is survived by his ex-wife and longtime dear friend, Dorothy J. Traylor, who was by his side at his passing; four daughters,J. Annette Traylor of Atlanta, Georgia, Frances R. Pride of Maumelle, Brandy Traylor-Kendrick, and Bridgette Traylor-Carter - both of Camden; three sons, William I. Traylor of Camden, Dominio Brock of Arlington, Texas, and Courtney Traylor of Nashville, Tennessee; five sisters, Mary Traylor of San Antonio, Texas, Florida J. Carter of Malvern, Gloria Traylor of Hot Springs, Gladys Welch and Jackie Stewart - both of Venice Beach, California; four brothers, Charlie Traylor, Marshal Traylor, Kenny Traylor and Jeffery Traylor - all of Malvern; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and special loved ones.

Williams Funeral Home of Adams Avenue is in charge of the arrangements. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, at First Baptist of Rockport in Malvern, Arkansas.

Burial will be at Perla Cemetery in Malvern.

Visitation will be from 2-5:30 p.m. on Friday, May 17, at the funeral home.
