Harriett Marie Mauney Aiken 92, of Camden, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 20, 2019.

Harriett was born on Jan. 24,1927, in Union County, Arkansas, to Elbert Roy Mauney and Anna Blanche (Collins) Mauney. She was a graduate of Norphlet High School and Henderson State University with a degree in business.

She taught school at Mt. Holly and Norphlet for a total of five years before going to work for the ammunition plant in East Camden. She retired from International Paper Company, Woodlands Division in Natchez, Mississippi after 26 years of service. Harriett was a member of the First Baptist Church in Natchez, and in Camden, Arkansas. She and her husband, Carl, were active members in the Camden Good Sam R.V. chapter.

She enjoyed camping, working in her yard and spending time with her family. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and sister.

Harriett was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jesse Carl Aiken of 59 years of marriage; three brothers, Jerry O. Mauney, Frank C. Mauney, and C. Richard Mauney; and one sister, Ann Davis.

She is survived by her daughter, Kay Vanlandingham (Joe); granddaughter, Kelly Vanlandingham of El Dorado. Other survivors include her one sister and one brother: Rosemary Steely of Magnolia, Arkansas, and Jim Mauney (Susan) of Little Rock. Also many nieces and nephews.

Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 25, at the funeral home, with burial at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, May 24, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the donors choice.
