The Camden News has released its Week 0 Players of the Week.

The “Players of the Week” feature is sponsored by Farmers Bank & Trust.

There were several student athletes that turned in great performances for their teams in Week 0, but four are being recognized - one senior, one sophomore and two juniors.

Bearden’s Jamalachi Hart and O’Shey Yarbrough and Harmony Grove’s Mecca Arnold and Dade Turner make up this weeks Camden New’s Players of the Week.

Hartley finished with 9 tackles and recovered a fumble for a touchdown in the Bears 22-8 win over Lafayette Count.

Yarbrough, a sophomore, finished with 9 tackles - four for losses - and a sack.

Arnold rushed for 107 yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries including a 57 yard game winning touchdown during the Hornets 30-26 win over Junction City.

Turner finished with 11 tackles as a defensive lineman and a linebacker during the game.

Honorable mention

Harmony Grove’s Tobias Hicks and Daniel Hill recovered critical fumbles for the Hornets.

Jeramie Edwards ripped the ball from a receivers hand to prevent a score and give the Hornets possession in the second half.

Bearden’s Kendrick Juniel and Jaylen Wade combined for over 100 yards and two touchdowns in a shortened game. Juniel also had a pass deflection and forced a fumble. Wade had an interception.
