— ALTA BOERNER

Alta Joan Sutherlin Boerner, age 92, died on December 12. 2020 in Knoxville, TN. She was born on June 28, 1928 to the parents of Nat and Ruth Dyer in Mountain Home, Arkansas. She is survived by her husband, Henry Boerner, her sons, Richard Douglas Sutherlin, III (Debbie), Edwin Scott Sutherlin (Leslie) and her daughter, Anita Sutherlin. She leaves behind three sisters, O’nalda Tabor, Ida Marie Lewis, and Myrtle Offutt. Also, grandchildren, Amanda Owens (Robert), Richard Douglas Sutherlin, IV (Candice), Katie Millard (Matt), Morgan Sutherlin, Winn Sutherlin and Morgan Gay and Zach Addie, along with three great-granddaughters. Jo is also survived by Henry’s son, Gary (Kathy) and his daughter, Jessica (Aaron) King and two grandchildren. Jo will be missed by a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceding in death by her first husband Richard Douglas Sutherlin, Jr., her son, Lee Dyer Sutherlin and two sisters, Natalie Reynolds and Ruth Carter.

Jo graduated from Mountain Home High School and attended Ouachita Baptist University. Jo was long-time member of the Camden First Baptist Church and lived in Camden prior to moving Sherwood, AR and later, Knoxville, TN.

A private service will be held in Camden, AR at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate your time in helping those in need.
