To the students, teachers, staff and parents of the Camden Fairview School District,
As we come to the close of this chapter (school year), we could never have dreamed of an outcome like this; but we have endured and made our situation and outcomes better by working together. I know that I am a better person because of you and I appreciate the trust and faith that you placed in me.
Teachers and staff, I would like to give a shout out this week to encourage all of you and thank you as members of the Camden Fairview School District. THANK YOU! I am honored to work alongside colleagues who, during these challenging and even scary times, are committed to a cause greater than ourselves, the education and wellbeing of our students. In the midst of these difficult times, there is also opportunity for growth and each of you have accepted the challenge and committed yourselves to improving on multiple levels. Teachers, thank you for answering the call and going above and beyond to provide ongoing instruction during this time of uncertainty.
To our parents, thank you for being patient with our teachers as they worked tirelessly through the changes in instruction, and for assisting your children as they worked from home. Working with technology has been great but working with our parents has been better. Parents you have been great partners and our students have grown because of the partnership that we have with you. We are better because of you.
To our students, thank you for working diligently on your online work or instructional packets to stay on track. Although your school year did not end as any of you would have imagined, take this extended summer break as a time to reflect and commit to working harder and valuing the opportunities you are given to receive a great education.
Schools, next year and in the future, will be vastly different than in past years. Please be patient with us as we work together to make our future the best it can be.
We will be prepared for three different scenarios of educating our students next school year. First is the traditional approach with students in the classrooms and things back to normal. Second is a half and half blended approach of distance learning and students in the classrooms. The third and last option would be distance instruction using technology. We must be prepared to be flexible in our approach to the future.
We encourage all Arkansans to follow the governor’s daily briefings to stay informed of current developments in our state. Last but not least, we will depend on the Department of Education, State Health Department and Governor Hutchinson to lead in the coming years.
We look forward to working with you in the future for the education of our students.
