VFW Post 4554 Auxiliary from Camden, AR, has teamed up with Life Touch Hospice to create a Patient Pantry. President of the VFW Post 4554 Auxiliary, Deb Carter-Cash, presented Jenifer McLelland, executive director of Life Touch Hospice, with a $200 check to start the Patient Pantry.

Knowing the stress and burden placed on caregivers of end-of-life patients, VFW Post 4554 Auxiliary President Deb Carter-Cash wanted to start a pantry to help those families. Deb went to Life Touch Hospice with the idea of creating a pantry to bless families with food and essential household items. VFW Post 4554 Auxiliary donated an initial $200 to go towards the pantry and plan to follow up monthly to see how they can help the patients and families.

“We currently have a patient assistance fund that goes toward our patients in need, but this pantry will help us go above and beyond in providing food and other items for even more families,” Jenifer McLelland, executive director of Life Touch Hospice, said.

“Any family taking care of a loved one knows how much of a blessing a meal, snacks, or a bag of essential household items are when your mind is so focused on your loved one. We are happy to help provide some of those blessings for patients and families receiving care from Life Touch Hospice,” said Deb Carter-Cash.
