A federal inmate at Ouachita County Detention Center is being charged with terroristic threatening after he allegedly made threatening phone calls to his ex-girlfriend from the jail.

Steven Turnage, of Texarkana, is currently housed in the Ouachita County Detention Center on federal fraud charges related to counterfeiting.

According to a report from the Ouachita County Sheriff's office, Turnage's ex-girlfriend contacted a deputy and alleged that Turnage had called her three separate times in September 2021 and threatened her and her family.

According to the report, the alleged victom told police that she and Turnage have a child together, and that he said he would "spit" on her and her current husband and kill everyone in her home.

She told deputies that he had choked her in the past and she legitimately feared for her life.

In Oct., 2021 Captain David Pennington reviewed the three phone calls and allegedly heard Turnage saying he was going to kill the husband. The calls also allegedly showed Turnage saying that the first place he was going to stop when he was free was his ex-girlfriends house to kill everyone there.
