Camden man charged with sexual assault, possession of child pornography

A Camden man has been charged with fourth-degree sexual assault, 29 counts of possession of child pornography and two counts of animal cruelty, according to documents from the Camden Police Department.

Gregory Reed, 34, of Camden is currently being held in the Ouachita County Detention Center on $100,000 bond.

According to a police report, officers were dispatched to a residence on Clifton Street where they made contact with the reporting party, who told officers that she'd found photos of "a female's groin" on an old phone her husband, Reed, had given her 11 year-old child when he got a new one.

The woman told police she initially didn't think much of the photos, as "he kept photos like that on his phone," according to the report. However, she said that she later realized the underwear in the photo matched some of her child's.

More graphic photos were also discovered on the phone.

According to the police report, the child was distraught when interviewed by police, and said they couldn't remember when the last time an incident of the nature seen in the photographs happened, but said it occurred recently. The report says Reed had moved into the home about two weeks before the photos were taken.

Reed told police he did not know about the photos, according to the report. Both the old and new phone were confiscated as evidence.

While on scene, police found two dogs chained outside the home without food, leading to the animal cruelty charges, according to Camden Police Chief Boyd Woody.
