First Friday to hold Juggling June

Special to the Camden News

First Friday Monthly Market in Camden is excited to announce “Jugglin’ June” as the theme for their market to be held today from 6 to 9 p.m. in downtown Camden.

Lots of fun and activities are planned. Jugglin’ June’s market will be circus-themed.

Much excitement can be found during this market, especially with the various performers that will be able to be found everywhere, from a stilt walker to Katie Sunshine, a hula hoop dancer. The Postmaster Grill stage will also be host to some very special acts from 6 to 8 p.m. followed by “Whistling Hounds” playing live from 8 to 10 p.m.

A vast array of vendors set up along Washington Street and Adams Avenue will be selling everything from wood workings to jewelry.

Special nonprofit groups and local organizations will be throughout the market to provide entertainment for the young and old alike. One will find farmers located all throughout the market with fresh eggs, jellies, jams, baked goods and more! Special food vendors will also be set up throughout the market with everything from street tacos to kettle korn.

Live music will be held back in the little park at the corner of Washington and Adams. This month’s live music will be Brian Martin. A Camden native, Martin now lives in north Arkansas but is busy touring all over the state.

Stop by Hollis Evans Floral to visit with this month’s featured author, Brenda Hutcheson Fickey. Fickey is a south Arkansas native and graduate of Fairview High School and a Camden-Fairview High School AP and concurrent credit teacher. Her books are a series from the Arkansas Oil Town days.

Downtown merchants will be open late for all shopping convenience and will be offering First Friday specials.
