OCMC to host vaccine clinic Friday

The Ouachita County Medical Center will host a COVID-19 vaccination clinic in the Green Center located at the Southwest corner of the hospital campus this Friday, March 26. The hospital will be utilizing the Pfizer two-dose COVID vaccine.

COVID-19 vaccination eligibility is managed by the Arkansas Department of Health and most adults are now eligible.

Those who are currently eligible for vaccination include: people 65 years of age and older; workers in education, police, fire, first response, corrections, food and agriculture, essential government, grocery stores, meal delivery, postal/package delivery services, public transit, houses of worship and manufacturing; people with developmental or intellectual disabilities; anyone between the ages of 16 and 64 with a health condition that heightens their risk for severe outcome from a COVID infection; workers in the energy, finance, food service, information technology, communications, media, public health, human services, public safety, shelter and housing and transportation and logistics fields; and those who live in a high risk setting, such as a group home or crowded housing, student housing or a detention facility.

Vaccinations at Friday’s clinic are available by appointment and may be scheduled by calling (870) 836-5015.

COVID-19 vaccines have been proven to be both safe and effective with over 127 million doses administered in the United States.
