Camden Fairview’s Michael Suell slides home after rounding third on a double in the third inning against Bauxite. The Cardinal outhit the Miners 9-7 but an error full second inning that led to 7 runs by Bauxite was too much for the Cardinals to overcome as they fell, 7-5. Caven Fain and Martavious Thomas had multiple hits for the Cardinals and right fielder AJ Smith had to leave the game after a collision at first place. Early woes were to culprit in the Lady Cardinals’ softball game against Star City on Saturday as well. The Lady Cardinals loss 7-3 after falling behind in the first inning.
The Cardinals will play Harrison at 3 p.m. in the first round of the 4A State Baseball Playoffs on Thursday and the Lady Cardinals will play Pea Ridge at the same time. The tournaments will be held in Morrilton.
