Friday night crash claims life of Magnolia woman

A Magnolia woman was killed Friday evening in Camden in a car wreck.

According to the Arkansas State Police, at 9:12 p.m. Friday, Michael and Rebecca Elliott and a minor child were stopped at the intersection of U.S. 278 and Bradley Ferry. The Elliott's vehicle, a 2014 Ford Escape, was struck from behind by a 2004 Chevy Silverado, causing the former to veer off the roadway.

Rebecca Elliott, 64, was killed in the wreck. Michael Elliott, 65, who is listed as the driver of the Escape, and the child were transported to the Ouachita County Medical Center to be treated for injuries they sustained when their vehicle was hit, according to the ASP.

Both Michael and Rebecca Elliott were Magnolia residents, according to the ASP report.

The driver of the Silverado was not named in the ASP's report. The truck reportedly came to rest under the traffic light at the intersection following the wreck.

Weather conditions were clear at the time of the wreck, and the road was dry, according to the ASP.

This was the 442nd fatal crash in Arkansas so far this year, and Rebecca Elliot was the 492nd person killed in such a wreck.
