'The Crawling Dead' to showcase zombie bugs of Arkansas

Special to the Camden News

Later this month, Logoly State Park will present "The Crawling Dead," a program about the bugs whose bodies haven't yet realized that they're dead.

One might be familiar with the zombie ants of the rain forest, but many people don't know about the creepier parts of the creepy, crawly world of bugs found here in Arkansas. Area residents are invited to join Logoly Park Interpreter Heather Runyan to discover the "zombie" bugs that can be found in our own backyard.

Event organizers warn that "The Crawling Dead" may not be suitable for very young children.

Free popcorn will be available at the program courtesy of Car-Mart of Magnolia and general manager Shaun Haynie.

"The Crawling Dead" will be held on Friday, Oct. 29, at 7 p.m. at Logoly, which is located in McNeil, six miles north of Magnolia.
