Authorities have recovered the body of a 17 year old male who went missing in the Ouachita River Sunday.

Camden Police Department Public Information Officer Dana Wetherbee said that the body was recovered around 8:30 a.m. Friday morning around the area the teen went missing.

Agencies had been working since Sunday to recover the body with Camden Police, Fire Department, Public Works and Ouachita County Sheriff's all contributing to the search along with the Cajun Navy from Louisiana and other agencies.

The only break in recovery efforts occurred for a few hours during storms Wednesday morning.

Wetherbee said,"It is a huge relief to us, because we were not stopping until this drowning victim was brought home to the family, so we are grateful that we were able to do that along with other agencies."

Wetherbee thanked the community for support and requested that family be lifted up in prayer.

The victim's identity has been withheld at the request of the family.
