C\Arkansas Center for Health Improvement (ACHI) data shows residents of Camden Fairview School District at Covid-19 status level purple (+100). Masks will continue to be required for the week of January 10-14 in district buildings and on all school buses.

A message from Superintendent Johhny Embry released Friday January 7 states, "Data released yesterday by Arkansas Center for Health Improvement (ACHI) shows residents of Camden Fairview School District at status level purple with 100 or more new known infections for the previous 14-days per 10K residents. Next week, masks will continue to be required during the school day in all district buildings and on all school buses. We are monitoring staff and student active positive and quarantine numbers district-wide and regularly communicating with the Arkansas Department of Health and the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). We are also prepared to transition temporarily to AMI days if necessary; however, our goal is to continue providing the in-person learning and services our students need while continuing to require masks, implement other safety protocols, and strongly encourage vaccination.

"With the extremely high level of Covid-19 community transmission in Ouachita County and all over Arkansas, returning to universal masking indoors was the best decision for the health and safety of everyone in our buildings and our community. I am thankful our school board has consistently approved policies that put the health and safety of our students and staff first and allow us to quickly react when community spread increases. I'm also proud of Camden Fairview employees. They are working tirelessly to educate and support our students every day.

"Yesterday afternoon, DESE released Updated Guidance for Schools based on Revised CDC Guidelines. Our district Points of Contact will follow this guidance. If you currently have a student quarantined, one of our school nurses may contact your family with updated return information. The full guidance is available at

"If your family members aged five and over have not received a Covid-19 vaccination or booster shots for ages 16 and over, please talk to your local doctor and consider getting vaccinated as soon as possible. Vaccination continues to be the best way to prevent serious illness from Covid-19.

"Please don't hesitate to reach out to your building principal or me if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you.
