Stone announces candidacy for South Arkansas's 2nd State Senate District

Camden, AR -- Matt Stone announced his campaign for the position of State Senator for District 2. The newly redrawn Senate District 2 encompasses all of Union, Ouachita, Calhoun, Dallas counties, and a portion of Grant County.

"The building blocks for moving forward are growing our economy and creating the best education system for our children. I will bring leadership in action to Little Rock by cutting your taxes, stopping big government mandates, and putting your children's education first," said Stone. "I am excited to start meeting with the people of south Arkansas and talk to them about growing south Arkansas together," said Stone.

"Whether serving on the Camden City Council, as a Commissioner on the Arkansas Forestry Division, or Co-Chair of Unity in the Community, citizens can trust me to work hard and solve problems," stated Stone.

Stone received his Bachelor's degree from University of Arkansas at Monticello and a Master's degree from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He is a Registered Forester, holds an Arkansas Real Estate Brokers License, and has been a small business owner for 33 years. He and his wife Jenny have three grown and married children and four grandchildren. They attend Calvary Baptist Church in Camden.

"I have worked, lived, served, and raised my family here because I love South Arkansas. I look forward to serving the people of South Arkansas in a new capacity," explained Stone.
