With a conference win under their belt, the SAU Tech Lady Rockets wanted to open their first conference home game and the first game of the year with a big win. The Lady Rockets hosted the University of Arkansas LadyColts in a home double-header. While the Lady Rockets did not dominate as much as they wanted to in their first conference home of the year, they were able to put their foot on the gas pedal. The Lady Rockets soundly defeated the LadyColts with a 91-62 score on Saturday.

SAU Tech was feeling the rhythm of the game early as they took its time to find what weaknesses the LadyColts had. After the first three-pointer from Sh'Diamond McKnight, the Lady Rockets stayed hot offensively.

On the defensive end of the court, SAU Tech was fast to react to the passing schemes from the opposing offenses. They crashed the paint while quickly double-teaming any shooting situations from the three-point arc. It took three minutes and 35 seconds of game-time for the LadyColts to points on the board from an impressive defensive performance. SAU Tech took a 26-12 lead at the end of the first quarter.

In the second quarter, SAU Tech took a different approach to dominate on the defensive end of the court. The Lady Rockets were intercepting passes consistently from the LadyColts throughout the second quarter. Freshman forward Jada Burrell had an impressive second-quarter performance by leading the team in nine points accounted for with nine. The Lady Rockets took a 53-29 lead into halftime.

SAU Tech dominated on both ends of the court in the first half with an impressive shooting display and creating turnovers. The Lady Rockets started the third quarter with an incredibly slow start as they were ice cold in over half of the third quarter. Cossatot was able to outscore SAU Tech 11-4 in the first five and a half minutes of play.

The Lady Rockets were able to find their shooting rhythm in the latter half of play in the third quarter as they were able to outscore the LadyColts 17-6. SAU Tech took the 74-46 lead at the end of the third quarter. Sophomore guard Alexandria Johnson led the team in points accounted for in the third quarter with nine.

The Lady Rockets took care of business enough in the fourth quarter to have the LadyColts from attempting any significant comeback. SAU Tech outscored Cossotat 17-16 in the fourth quarter as each of the players for the Lady Rockets found a unique way to score. Freshman guard Rhealee Campbell was among one of the players for SAU Tech that found a hot shooting rhythm throughout the game.

Alexandria Johnson led the Lady Rockets in points accounted for with 21 points. Sh'Diamond McKnight scored 20 points for SAU Tech as she shot 7-of-11 in field goals, two of them being three-pointers.
