The Camden Fairview Lady Cardinals (12-5, 6-2) picked up a big win on Saturday afternoon with a route of the Crossett Lady Eagles (0-12, 0-6), 43-17.

The win keeps the Cardinals in the top 4 of the 4A Region 8 conference.

The defensive prowess was on display for the home team in the early goings of the contest. The Lady Cardinals played fundamental basketball, crashing the boards and out-rebounding the Lady Eagles while holding them scoreless until the 1:45 mark of the first quarter. Michaela Griffith and Nicole Sanders each drew a charge and the Lady Cardinals won the battle of the boards 8-2 in the first quarter.

After taking a 12-2 lead into the second quarter, CF's offense scored five points from the free-throw line as their pressure defense led to turnovers and fast break points. CF would take full advantage of the Lady Eagles scrambling defense to take a 25-5 lead at the half. The Lady Cardinals never looked back and were able to get every student-athlete into the game and get some of its starters some much-deserved rest after a 3-game week.

On Tuesday, the Lady Cardinals will travel to play Watson Chapel (3-15, 3-4). CF defeated WC when the two teams played earlier this month, 36-34.
