Conference Realignments affecting all three Ouachita County schools

The ever-changing landscape of high school athletics changes once again. The Arkansas Activities Association continues its reshifting of conferences in multiple sports for the next two school years. Sports affected by the conference realignment changes include Tennis, Golf, Baseball, Softball, Track & Field and Socceer. All of the high school teams in the state of Arkansas are affected by the changes, including Camden Fairview, Harmony Grove and Bearden.

This 2022-2023 school year, the Camden Fairview Cardinals baseball and Lady Cardinals softball are moving from 4A-8 to 4A-7. Camden Fairview and their rival Magnolia will join the 4A-7 Conference with Arkadelphia, Ashdown, De Queen, Hope, Malvern and Nashville.

The Harmony Grove Hornets baseball team and Lady Hornets softball team will remain in the 3A-8 Conference. The only changes to the 3A-8 Conference will be the addition of Dewitt and Dollarway as Rison moves down to 2A-8.

The Bearden Bears baseball team and the Lady Bears softball team will move from the 2A-8 Conference to the 1A-8 Conference. Joining Bearden will be rival Hampton and Lafeyette County will join Bradley, Hermitage and Taylor. The 1A-8 baseball conference will have six teams, while the softball conference will also have Emerson.

Camden Fairview's boys and girls' tennis teams will remain the 4A-8 Conference along with Crossett, Hamburg, Magnolia, Monticello, Star City and Warren.

The Camden Fairview Cardinals and Lady Cardinals golf team will be transitioning from 4A-8 Conference to the 4A-7 Conference. Camden Fairview and Magnolia will join Arkadelphia, Ashdown, De Queen, Hope, Malvern and Nashville in the 4A-7 Conference.

The Harmony Grove Hornets and Lady Hornets golf teams will make a big jump from the 2A-6 Conference into the 3A-5 Conference. They are set to join their rivals Smackover, Bismark, Centerpoint, Cossatot River, Glen Rose, Fouke, Harmony Grove (Haskell), Jessieville and Prescott.

Camden Fairview's track and field team will transition from the 4A-8 Conference to the 4A-7 Conference. They and Magnolia will join Arkadelphia, Ashdown, De Queen, Hope, Malvern and Nashville.

Harmony Grove's track and field team will remain in the 3A-8 Conference as they will welcome Dewitt and Dollarway. Rison will be the team transitioning down to 2A-8 conference play.

The Bearden Bears' track and field team will transition from the 2A-8 Conference to the 1A-8 Conference along with their rival Hampton and Friendship Aspire (Pine Bluff). They will join Dermott, Emerson, Hermitage, Nevada County and Strong.
