Former Camden Fairview Cardinals star basketball player C.J. Mitchell has already had an extensive journey in college basketball, and he's looking to make next season his best, as he transfers to Randall University as a redshirt senior.

His best game his senior year was when he scored 36 points against the Cardinals' cross-class rival in the El Dorado Wildcats. He was selected to the All-Regional and All-State teams for his excellent performances on both ends of the court as well as his leadership.

After a stellar career at Camden Fairview, Mitchell went on to help start up the SAU Tech Rockets' men's basketball team. Their first season as a revitalized program began in 2018. Mitchell started in two of the six games he played for the Rockets as a true freshman. He played in a Rockets system where they switched many contributors and starters in different portions of the season. Mitchell averaged 3.2 points per game, 1.2 rebounds per game and 0.7 assists per game.

Mitchell then transferred to Millikin University to play college basketball at the Division III level. He averaged 4.6 points per game, 1.8 rebounds per game and one assist per game for the Big Blue.

He saw a significant jump in is basketball career when he transferred to Toccoa Falls College to play for the Screaming Eagles in the 2020-2021 college basketball season. Mitchell was one of the top playmakers at the collegiate level. He averaged a team-high 17.9 points per game, shooting a 48.6% field-goal percentage. In his 17 games played, including 15 as a starter, Mitchell would accumulate 80 total rebounds, 58 assists and 22 steals.

Last season as a redshirt junior, Mitchell played in 25 games, starting in 13 of them. He averaged 10.7 points per game, 3.5 rebounds per game, 2.3 assists per game and 1.2 steals per game. Under Mitchell's leadership, the Screaming Eagles accounted for an overall record of 15-14.

Mitchell is looking to finish his collegiate career with the Randall University Saints.

"I felt like it was a great opportunity to have a big impact and leave my mark, to finish my last college year to put me where I need to be to play professionally after this year," Mitchell said.

He will be adding much-needed talent on both ends of the court as the Saints finished the 2021-2022 college basketball season with an overall record of 4-19. Mitchell will also look to be a leader for the Saints to get them back on track.

Mitchell hopes to continue his basketball career after the collegiate level. For now, he is looking to prove he belongs to be in consideration for semi-pro or international basketball.
