It is halfway through the 2022 NFL Season and it has been one of the wildest seasons in recent memory. Some of the top quarterbacks in the league and their teams are struggling. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers led by Tom Brady, the Green Bay Packers led by Aaron Rodgers, the Denver Broncos led by Russell Wilson and the reigning Super Bowl champions in the Los Angeles Rams led by Matthew Stafford all have below .500% records. Meanwhile, teams like the New York Giants, New York Jets and the Seattle Seahawks are making serious progress towards being a contender for the playoffs this season.
Some teams are already preparing for their run of next season by focusing on a roster restructure this off-season. One of the biggest restructuring processes is the 2023 NFL Draft that starts on April 23, 2023. Teams are already analyzing who the top players are that will be available next April and what positions on the team general managers need to focus on replacing. While there isn't a team that is out of the playoff, most teams are projected to be out than clinch a playoff spot.
Here is the order of the 2023 NFL Draft, according to NFL.com. Picks #1 through #18 are left out of the playoffs. Picks #19 to 31 are teams that are currently projected to make the playoffs if the season was over before week 10. There are projected to be four quarterbacks taken in the first round with three of them being in the top five. 16 of the 31 players projected to be selected come from the offensive side of the ball. The New Orleans Saints, Los Angeles Rams, and the Cleveland Browns currently do not have first round picks as a result of previous trades.
