Camden News staff gives thanks

by Bradly Gill | November 22, 2022 at 5:00 a.m.

The Camden News staff would like to tell you what they are thankful for this holiday season.

The last two years has taught us that life is fleeting, to pause and enjoy our time. I'm thankful for that. I'm thankful for Jesus and what He did for us on the cross, the family He gave me and the blessings I enjoy every day. I'm thankful for WEHCO Media and their unwavering commitment to fact-based journalism. I'm thankful they have allowed me to do what I love for 25 years. I'm thankful for our team here in Camden who show up every day and put in the hard work for our readers. Last, but certainly not least, I am so thankful for our community for the support they show us every single day. - Robyn Yarbro, General Manager

This year, I'm thankful for my friends, family, my sweet dog Sam and my health. I have a lot to be grateful for. I'm lucky to have a job that is fulfilling, to be healthy and to be surrounded by people I love and who love me. I have an incredible little brother (the rest of my family isn't bad either), a wonderful boyfriend of a decade, whose family has welcomed me as one of their own as well, and a pet dog who makes sure I get out of bed every day. I'm very grateful to the community, both those I work in, and the smaller ones of which I'm a member. I hope everyone here in Camden also has a happy Thanksgiving. - Caitlan Butler, Managing Editor

I'm thankful that I get to work for a company that puts journalistic principles ahead of profit. I'm thankful that I live in a country where I can do my job without fear of being jailed. I'm thankful for my loving wife and our dog and cat. I'm thankful I can call my grandmother any time and she will answer the phone. I'm also thankful I can get The Wheel of Time book series on Amazon relatively cheap, so I can finally read a great work of fiction. I'm thankful modern technology lets me connect with friends, some of who are halfway across the word. Lastly, I'm grateful for any day I wake up this side of the dirt.- Bradly Gill, News Editor

I am thankful for the opportunities to grow as a journalist and as an individual. I am thankful for being able to use my talents and knowledge to write, study, analyze, take pictures, and breathe in sports. Most of all, I am thankful for the loved ones that are in this state and many others who are far away. I'm lucky enough to talk to my mother about my problems, my friends to talk about shared interests such as Star Wars, Marvel and sports, my work colleagues to help me grow even more as a journalist, and my fiance, Courtney to put up with me and the two puppies. I'm even more thankful for the recent discovery that I will be a father for the first time in my life. I cannot wait to give our child the love I have been given by my family. I hope to be as great of a father as my dad (who died on the Friday after Thanksgiving two years ago of ALS) was to me.-Michael Hanich, Sports Writer
