Camden crash claims life of Stamps man

A Stamps man was killed Sunday in a single-vehicle accident on Highway 24, according to Arkansas State Police.

According to an accident report, Demetric V. Henderson, 23, was traveling east on Highway 24 in a at 1:51 a.m. Sunday, when he was unable to negotiate a curve, crossed the westbound lane, left the roadway and struck an embankment, causing his 2006 Mercury to flip and eject him from the vehicle.

Road and weather conditions were reportedly clear and dry at the time of the accident.

Henderson was taken to Ouachita County Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Henderson's was the 353rd accident on an Arkansas highway so far this year, and he was the 390th person to be killed on an state road, according to the ASP.
