Quick Recap.

Camden Fairview scored early and often in its road game against Dollarway and walked away with an emphatic 48-0 win in an abbreviated contest.

The battle of the Cardinals leaved heavily in the favor of the visitors when CF's Martavious Thomas found Kenny Lanford on a screen pass on the first play from scrimmage that resulted in a 45 yard touchdown. Nasir Khan would nail the PAT to give CF the 7-0 lead. Khan then blasted the ensuing kickoff down inside the opposing team's 5 yard line and the CF special teams played it brilliantly to pin Dollarway deep in their territory.

After a three and out and a short punt, Thomas would hook up with Jarvis Reed for a 20-yard touchdown with 9:05 left in the opening segment. Khan was again true on the PAT to make it 14-0 in favor of Camden Fairview.

CF's special teams continued to pin Dollarway back and almost came up with a safety before another short punt. Facing a fourth and long, Thomas hooked up with AJ Alsobrook from a 15 yard touchdown. Khan knocked down the extra point extending CF's lead to 21 with 6:43 left in the first.

Dollarway would find some success on its next offensive drive but ultimately had to punt. Thomas hit explosive sophomore Trent Haygood with a Utah pass that went for 35 yards then found Reed for another 15 yard touchdown at the 5:02 mark. The PAT was wide left.

CF added another touchdown at the minute mark of the first when Alsobrook took a short reception and split two Dollarway defender en route to a 43 yard touchdown. Khan added the PAT to make it 34-0.

The sportsmanship rule went into effect at the beginning of the second quarter, but the CF defense was merciless. On the first play of the second, Matt Davis picked off his second interception of the season and ran it in from 47 yards out. Dollarway's next pass was also a pick-6 this time at the hands of sophomore DeJuan Wesley who scored from 32 yards out. Khan - who kicked the ball 14 times in the short half - was true on both PATs after the interceptions. Dollarway started to throw the ball down field and did pick up a couple of pass interferences before time expired.

Thomas finished the game 7/10 for 192 yards unofficially and 5 touchdowns. Alsobrook had two receptions for 57 yards and two touchdowns. Reed tallied 35 yards and two touchdown off of two receptions. Haygood and Caleb Tate combined for another 55 yards. Lanford had one reception for 45 yards and a touchdown.

As each team headed to the locker rooms for the half, the public announcer said there would be a 30 minute lightening delay. After about 15 minutes and continued lightening, the game was called.
