Little Rock, Ark. – The Museum of Discovery will present the 11th annual Tinkerfest, a one-day festival that brings together makers, artists, engineers and crafters from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, September 24, inside and outside the museum.
Guests of all ages will have the opportunity to engage in more than 40 activities from using raw materials and tools to create unique machines to launching rockets, art exploration, plus numerous crafting and building options. Additionally, guests will be able to explore construction equipment and other construction-related activities provided by presenting sponsor Kiewit-Massman.
More than 40 activities are planned, including:
· Robot Competitions
· Car Take-Aparts
· Drone Demonstrations
· Parachute Drops
· Water Play
· LEGO Build Challenges
Returning this year will be a sensory station that will provide activities for neurodivergent guests in a calming and soothing environment.
"Igniting and fueling a passion for science, technology, engineering, arts and math through dynamic and interactive experiences is our mission which Tinkerfest serves perfectly," says Museum of Discovery CEO Kelley Bass. "On top of an incredibly fun day, our event guests will leave more curious about how everyday objects work and inspired to innovate and solve problems."
Tinkerfest activities are included in the museum's regular daily admission: $10 for adults, $8 for children 1-12 and free for infants younger than 1. Seniors, teachers, Little Rock city employees and active and retired military are admitted for $8. SNAP recipients plus an additional five people in their party are admitted for $2 each.
