MAGNOLIA, AR (09/28/2022)-- Southern Arkansas University has selected 20 students to be represented on the 2022 Homecoming Court.

  • Shane Collins is a Senior Engineering major from Camden, AR.
  • Haylee Hines is a junior Mass Media major from Camden, AR.
  • Hope Hesterly is a senior Pre-Health Biology major from Camden, AR.
  • Ainsley Purifoy is a junior Agricultural Business major from Louann, AR.

Candidates on the court represent their club or organization at the Homecoming Coronation Ceremony on October 1 during the presentation of Homecoming royalty.

The SAU Homecoming Court is selected through a two-step interview process. Clubs and organizations submit nominations for candidates who must complete two rounds of interviews along with submitting a 500-word essay. Once a student is officially on the court, he or she will have a chance to campaign for the position of SAU's 2022 Homecoming King or Homecoming Queen.

This year's homecoming theme is "Forever a Mulerider." SAU's Homecoming events began Monday, September 26, and will last through Saturday, October 1. The presentation of Homecoming royalty will be Saturday, October 1, at 2:00 p.m.
