DENNIS RAY TEDDER, 77 of Camden, Arkansas passed away April 2, 2023, in Little Rock, Arkansas. Born April 27, 1945, in Dumas, Arkansas to the late Ovas Opal and Adelle Daisy Rawson Tedder. Dennis was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Camden.
He was a retired law enforcement officer and Deputy Director of the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy. He was on the Governor's Task Force for rape and domestic violence, attended the FBI academy and received numerous certificates of achievement in law enforcement during his career.In the latter years of his career, he spent many hours with his father Ovas helping him with his small engine repair shop in Dumas. After his retirement, Dennis opened Tedder Outdoor Power, his own small engine repair shop, in a small portable building in Camden, Arkansas. Soon his business had outgrown the building, so he built a 900 square foot metal building, later adding a 900 square foot addition, and eventually completed his facility with a 1080 square foot addition. Dennis' and Grace's Tedder Outdoor Power was featured in the March 2009 issue of Power Equipment Trade.
Dennis was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Survivors are his loving wife Henry Grace Tedder of Camden, Arkansas; two sons, Michael (Wrenette) Tedder of Arkadelphia, Arkansas; Scott Tedder of Camden, Arkansas, and daughter Tracy (Perry) Wood of Gould, Arkansas; two brothers Kenneth (Linda) Tedder of Hartselle, Alabama and Charles (Kim) Tedder of Centerton, Arkansas and sister Marie (Larry) West of Greenwood, Arkansas; four grandchildren Ethan (Saray) Tedder, Camille Tedder, Blake Wood and Clayton (Tyfani) Wood.
Visitation and service to be held on Friday, April 7, 2023, at Griffin Funeral Home, Dumas, AR. Family visitation from 1 Pm until service at 2 Pm., burial following in Walnut Lake Cemetery.
