Ouachita County Sheriff's Department wants to warn residents of a possible scam.
According to the group's Facebook page,"It has come to our attention that a group of scammers are currently calling citizens pretending to be us. They are even spoofing our phone number to make it seem like the call is coming from us. Some of the calls have been telling the callers they have a warrant and requesting personal or financial information. THIS IS A SCAM. Ouachita County Sheriff's Department will never request financial information from you over the phone. If you ever question if the call is real or not simply hang up and contact us directly to verify. If you have been a victim of a scam and gave out personal or financial information please contact us to make an incident report as well as immediately contact your financial institution."
