Camden man charged with kidnapping and domestic battery over alleged hammer attack

A Camden man has been charged with kidnapping, first degree battery and interference with emergency communications after an incident in which he allegedly attacked a woman with a hammer causing severe injury.

Delvecchio Bradford, 44, of Camden was given a $25,000 bond on December 8, 2022.

A Camden Police affidavit states that on December 4 officers were dispatched to Ouachita County Medical Center in reference to a domestic battery report.

The subject was observed to have two black eyes, severe swelling and marks to her face, swelling to her eyes and hands and large bruises on her lower abdomen, back and right leg.

The officer observed X-rays and noted the subject had two fingers broken on her right hand.

The woman stated that around 5 a.m. Bradford came to her house and asked her to retrieve an item from his car. She then alleged that he drove her to his house where he accused her of cheating on him.

The woman stated she denied the allegations and Bradford grabbed a hammer stating, "If you're not going to tell me the truth, I'll make you tell me the truth."

According to the report, he then attacked her with the hammer and kicked her several times. The woman also alleged that he withheld her phone from her.

Bradford then took her to a local business where she retrieved her phone and texted her father to pick her up, who then took her to Ouachita County Medical Center.
