A Camden man has been charged with the rape of a minor according to documents filed in the 13th District Court of Arkansas.
Andrew Merritt, 34, is currently being held in Ouachita County Detention center on $100,000 bond.
According to an affidavit, Camden Police officers were called to an apartment in Camden in reference to a sexual assault.
The affidavit states that the offenses started around 2 years ago when the victim was 12 years old.
An arrest warrant was issued in November of 2022, but the affidavit states officers were unable to serve the warrant.
On January 4, 2023, Merritt was taken into custody in Malvern, Arkansas.
