Mother and daughter charged with assault and obstruction

A mother and daughter have been charged with aggravated assault of a family member after a man was allegedly hit with a cell phone and chased with a knife.

Diamond Banks, 21, and Nicole Willis, 40, appeared before Judge David Graham on December 16, 2022, when they each were given a $5,000 bond.

According to an affidavit from the Camden Police Department, on Dec. 15, 2022, a CPD officer was dispatched to a residence on Louisiana Avenue in regards to a domestic disturbance.

The officer made contact with a man who claimed that while he was sitting on the front porch, Willis came outside and yelled at him before hitting him with a cell phone causing him to momentarily lose consciousness.

The man alleged that Willis then took a knife and stabbed his vehicle's rear, driver side tire. After that, the man said, he went inside, where Banks threatened him with a knife. Returning outside, Willis likewise threatened him with a knife, the man claimed, at which point he called the police.

He also alleged that Willis smashed his front windshield and caused more damage to a spot she had smashed during a previous encounter.

When more officers arrived, Banks allegedly refused to answer questions and Willis gave a false name.
