Catfishing tournament coming to Sandy Beach

Southestern Arkansas Catfishing trail will host a tournament at Sandy Beach on March 11. Registration will be 6:30 a.m. the day of the tournament with launch at 7 a.m. Fishing will end at 3 p.m. with weigh in at 3:30 p.m. $5o per boat with maximum three adults per boat.

A release from the organization states, "We are a not for profit catfishing tournament trail for SE Arkansas with no membership fees required. There will be 9 events this season that we will promote, organize & attend."

The groups says the goal of the organization is to, "create a simple and honest atmosphere that is fun and affordable for everyone. To encourage kids to get outside and learn about fishing and teamwork, socialize and be confident. To host special events for veterans and people with disabilities. And to promote all local businesses as well as fishing industry related businesses everywhere."

"We started the trail in February 2021, this is our 3rd season. There are currently 854 members. The 2023 schedule and tournament rules are posted on our Facebook page under topics. We appreciate your time to consider supporting our trail and look forward to seeing you soon"
