Joseph Smith

Joseph Seriale Smith, 39, of Camden Arkansas, transitioned to his heavenly home on January, 18, 2023.

He was born Tuesday, March 2, 1983 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Sylvester Smith, Jr. and Judy Seriale Smith. He accepted Christ at an early age and was christened and baptized at Greater St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor I.R. Dunn. Joseph loved to spend time with family and friends, create music, and cook- especially Cajun recipes with his mother. Gumbo was his favorite dish to make.

Upon graduation from Camden Fairview High School, he attended Grambling State University and furthered his studies at the Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Atlanta Georgia. Joseph enjoyed music especially hip hop and was the current CEO at Hunnafied Records and producer of several mixtapes. His song, Born 2 Win, was featured in a commercial promoting a National Basketball Association final playoff game. Joseph was also a certified restoration specialist and a crew manager at Service Master Restore in Maumelle, Arkansas.

He is preceded in death by his great-grandparents, loving grandparents, Sylvester Smith, Sr. (Camden AR); Vernice Bellard (Ville Platte, LA); Joseph Seriale (Ville Platte, LA).

Joseph leaves to cherish his memories, his mother Judy Seriale Smith and father Sylvester Lee Smith, Jr. A son, Joseph Smith Jr. and four daughters: Jada, Italia, Harlem and Milan. Three brothers, Sylvester III (Adrienne), Broderick, Kenshun (Mikeisha) and a sister Jasmine. Also, a beloved Grandmother Josephine Smith, Godmother Pamela McCarthy (Anthony) and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Please join us in celebrating his life on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 11am at Greater Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church- Pastor Jeffrey Franklin, 896 South Adams Avenue in Camden Arkansas. Burial to follow.

James (Booker) T. Elliott, son of the late James Elliott and Lillye Mae Elliott made his entrance into the world on September 12, 1944 in Louann, Arkansas. He transitioned peacefully on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at the age of 78. The viewing will be Monday, January 30, 2023, 11a.m. -12 Noon at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 4632 376 South in Louann, Arkansas. The Celebration of Life service will follow at 12 Noon, Rev. Cecil Gibson officiating. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, masks are required and available for the Celebration of Life service.
