Camden Fairview's basketball program reeled in a total of eight All Conference honors and one All State honor for their accomplishments on the court this year.
CF Lady Cardinals Amiyah Davis, Karmen Johnson, Jakyree Spencer and Jordan Clary made the girls' All Conference team while CF senior student athlete Jy'Marion "Juicy" Hopson was named to the All State Team. Fellow Cardinals Jalen Goodwin, Kyleston Gill and DJ King were named to the All Conference Team.
Hopson is the first CF basketball player to be named to the All State Team in recent memory. He served as the team's primary ball handler while also managing to lead the team in scoring. Hopson saw time as a sophomore but became a consistent starter for the team in 2022. He was a critical part of the Cardinals' road wins against El Dorado (23 points) and Malvern (19).
Davis was known more as a three point threat last year, but this year rounded out her game into becoming a three-level scorer and a wise defender. She also developed as a guard as her ball handling abilities improved. Defensively, she was often able to end up in the right place at the right time for the Cardinals and was a confident finisher in the fast break. Davis set a career high in points against Hope on the road when when she scored 30 points, which surpassed her previous career high set the week before against Magnolia when she scored 28 points.
Spencer averaged eight points a game this season and had a season high of 16 points. Being one of the senior leaders on the squad, she played a big role in the team's Championship run in the Don Stahl Memorial Tournament in Louisiana.
Clary was one of the primary ball handlers for the Lady Cardinals despite being a sophomore. The young student athlete averaged five points per game while also being one of the most aggressive perimeter defenders in the conference. She had a career high of 15 points against 4A runner-up Nashville.
Johnson was the Lady Cardinals' most consistent player and brought toughness to the undersized team. She, like Davis, was able to score from the post, drive the ball as well as knock down an open three. Johnson was the team's leading rebounder and was a charismatic teammate. She scored in double digits in every game with the exception of one (De Queen). If the senior had not proved her mettle with her performances in cheer leading, softball and volleyball throughout her high school career, she certainly did during the Holiday Classic after suffering a serious bruise during a game. Johnson was back on the court just a week later playing at full strength.
Goodwin became a consistent starter for the Cardinals and quickly earned a reputation as one of the best two way players in the conference. The junior guard averaged 10 points and three steals per game while also guarding the opposing teams best scorer. He was a three-level scorer for the Cardinals. During a road game against Arkadelphia, Goodwin posted a career high 25 points to help the Cardinals hang on to the second seed in the conference.
Gill made quite the reputation for himself despite being a sophomore. He was often instant offense for the Cardinals and led the team in threes. Gill showed how hot he can get from beyond the arch when he scored 27 points against Crossett. The talented tenth grader has already received a collegiate offer.
King brought his defensive experience over from the football field in his second year playing basketball. The Cardinals relied on King to be physical on the inside and collect rebounds. King was also versatile enough to close out on perimeter shooters and smart enough to be a distraction when the Cardinals went to full court. The hard working senior was also named to the 4A Playoffs All Tournament Team.
