After serving the organization in her youth, Gracie Muckelrath now serves as county coordinator for a mission she holds to her heart.

"I've always thought The CALL was awesome by how they serve people and glorify God," Muckelrath explained about her excitement to be in a higher ranking position.

A native of Ouachita County, she grew up in one of many church congregations that supported the group's mission to help children and foster care families. The non-profit ministry has served in every county of Arkansas for over 16 years, using church partnerships to operate the organization.

"When I saw the position open, I immediately jumped on it, because these are the people I want to work for," said Muckelrath.

When she's not working at The CALL, Muckelrath spends time with autistic children as a behavioral therapist for in-home therapy through Independent Case Management of Little Rock. The therapy serves children in Ouachita and surrounding counties.

"I've learned that both organizations serve hand-in-hand, by going into homes and making sure the children are on board with reaching goals," Muckelrath said. "It's all family based to promote good relationships."

In addition to studying for her masters at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia, she hopes to create a community support group for the 36 youth and 13 families in The CALL's care.

"It can be hard to open up your home and allow a big change for your family dynamic, so they know they have each other to lean on," she stated.

Due to few foster families, most youth placed under foster care have to go to other service areas within Arkansas, sometimes far away from Ouachita County. However, if you are interested Muckelrath said to contact her at 870-675-0138 for more information.
