City of Bearden without water after winter weather

On Wednesday The Bearden Waterworks posted the following, "The water is currently shut off inside the city limits of Bearden in attempt to find the source of water loss. Once the system is pressured back up, water customers inside the city limits of Bearden will be under a boil order.

We apologize any inconvenience this may cause. We are working hard to restore the entire system."

Previous posts stated, " Due to the below normal freezing temperatures the water department had to shut down the water system in town because of damages. The entire system is currently being fed by the Millville pump station. Waterworks Supervisor Trevor Castleberry ask that we try to conserve our water usage to the best of our ability to allow the system to catch up with the water demand for the next few days until repairs are made.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

"Demand is still much greater than supply. The tanks have steadily dropped all night and will be out of water in less than an hour if nothing changes. The water department is riding the system checking for main leaks but at this point the search has turned up no leaks. We strongly urge and ask that with the temps warming up, that all customers turn off any faucets dripping or running now so the water plant can hopefully build some pressure back in the tanks.

If we run out of water in the tanks and pressure drops below 20 psi in the mains, be on the lookout for a post issuing a boil water order.

Thank you for your cooperation."
